Two of my friends graduated today. One I’d only been acquainted with through a freak case of six-degrees of separation. The other I’ve known since my very first PHYS1001 lecture, on a hot Monday afternoon at two in the Physics Lecture Theatre 1. Yeah, I was a bit misty-eyed. Memories: light the corner of my mind.
Ironically, just as Simon was ending his degree, I was confirming myself for at least another year of mine. Pre-enrolled today. I’ll be finished with my Education units for my B.Ed. by the middle of next year, and all I’ll have to do is finish my B.Sc., and some second year maths subjects too. Thusly:
2008: Semester 1
EDSE5008 Internship
EDSE5010 Meeting the Needs of Cultural Diversity
EDBT5000 International Curriculum
2008: Semester 2
PHYS3068 Optics/Condensed Matter Physics & Lab
PHYS3071 High Energy Physics/Astrophysics & Lab
MATH2065 Introduction to Partial Differential Equations
Damn the School of Physics only running particular subjects in first semester. Can’t do them in 2008 because of internship smack bang in the middle of it. So I’ll be hanging around in 2009 as an Education/Science VI student! Ooooold! Also, apparently it’s recommended (for teaching prospects) to have at least one semester of a third science. Ergh, first years.
2009: Semester 1
PHYS3051 Thermodynamics/Biological Physics & Lab
PHYS3054 Nanoscience/Plasma Physics & Lab
MATH2063 Mathematical Computing & Nonlinear Systems
BIOL1101 Biology: Ecosystems to Genes
